(BOLIVAR, Mo.) – Sophomore Olivia Hayes scored her team-leading third goal of the season in the 66th minute of Saturday afternoon's women's soccer match at Southwest Baptist University, and junior Jayne Grisham kept MIAA opponents scoreless against the 'Dogs in conference play, as Truman won 1-0 at SBU.
Hayes (Clayton, Mo., Clayton) tally came unassisted and was one of her four total shots on goal for the afternoon for Truman, who moved to 4-1-1 overall (3-0-1 in the MIAA) with the win. The Bulldogs have yet to surrender a goal in conference play and have a total scoreless streak of more than 435 minutes currently in the books.
On the day, Truman outshot SBU, 11-2, on goal and had an 18-7 advantage on total shots fired.
Grisham (Bridgeton, Mo., Ursuline Academy) was forced to make just two saves against SBU (2-3-1, 1-2-1 MIAA), one in each half.
The Bulldogs return to Kirksville for just one game this coming week, as Truman will battle Emporia State at 4 pm on Thursday afternoon (Sept. 23).
