KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman women's tennis team cruised to a 7-2 victory to pick up their first conference win of the season on Wednesday against Missouri Western State University. The Bulldogs will be back on the courts on Thursday as they host Northwest Missouri.

Kelsey Kuykendall and Dagmar Velez picked up an 8-0 victory at number two doubles while Maggie Schutte and Lauren Higgins wasted little time in their 8-0 win at number three.

The Bulldogs claimed five of the six singles matches in straight sets as Amy Ochs, Ellen Russell, Jennifer Hawkins joined Kuykendall and Velez in the win column.

Truman improves to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in league play.
