RENSSELAER, Ind. - - A pair of first-half goals stood up for the Truman men's soccer team, as the Bulldogs earned three key road points on Sunday afternoon by defeating St. Joseph's College, 2-1.

Zach Hollstrom put the first tally on the board for the 'Dogs (5-2-1, 3-2-1 GLVC) in the 19th minute, finding a home in the bottom left corner for a 1-0 edge. His unassisted goal was his third this season in his first year at Truman.

SJC (2-5-1, 1-5 GLVC) knotted the match just moments later, as Michael Lipton scored his third goal of the year in the 24th minute. However, in the 37th minute, Tony Luedecke found pay-dirt off a free kick, giving the Bulldogs their eventual game-winning goal as neither team moved the nets in the second half.

The Pumas out-shot Truman 10-8 overall, but the Bulldogs put four of their eight shots on net compared to just two of 10 for SJC. Drew Garrone made one save in net in the chippy contest that saw 40 combined fouls between the two squads.

The Bulldogs return to the pitch next Friday (Oct. 4) at 3:30 pm when they host nationally-ranked Rockhurst (6-1-1, 5-0-1 GLVC) at the Bulldog Soccer Park.
