KANSAS CITY, Mo.  – The Truman Tennis teams wrapped up the road portion of their GLVC schedule with a pair of losses to Rockhurst (Mo.) University on Saturday. The Hawks defeated the Bulldogs 7-2 in both the men's and women's match. The men will finish the regular season with a pair of non-conference duals starting on Tuesday with Washburn (Kan.) at home.
 
Women's Recap: Kim Birenbaum and Marisa Thome grabbed the first point for the Bulldogs as they took the top doubles match by a score of 8-4 over the Hawks' Jessica Koraleski and Fabi Juarez Herrera.
 
Thome took the first set in her number four singles by a 6-4 score but then lost 7-5 and 10-3 to Alex Schelble. The other Truman point came when Savannah Everett won by default over Abby Kayser.
 
Truman drops to 3-9 overall and 0-5 in the GLVC and will finish up conference play on Friday at home against Maryville (Mo.).
 
Men's Recap: Jake Ohlhausen and Griffin Smith knocked off regionally ranked Pawel Grzegrzolka and Truit Gray by an 8-6 score in the top doubles match. The Hawks' duo was ranked ninth in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest regional rankings.
 
Joe Murphy-Baum and Kirk Schlueter allowed the Bulldogs to go up 2-1 in doubles with a 9-8 (8-6) win at number two.
 
The Hawks, ranked 38th in the nation and sixth in the region, took all six singles matches to rally for the win. Five of the six were taken by straight sets with Murphy-Baum stretching Gray to three sets before falling.
 
The men will conclude the regular season with two non-conference matches prior to the GLVC Tournament. The Bulldogs will host Washburn at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Missouri Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
