KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - - It was a Family Day block party for the Truman volleyball team on Saturday afternoon, as the Bulldogs recorded 11 blocks in just three sets to sweep Wisconsin-Parkside in Pershing Arena.

The Bulldogs (4-2, 1-0 GLVC) got blocks from eight different players, including five each by junior Abby Heise and sophomore Bailey O'Drobinak. The 11 blocks were just one shy of the program record during the rally-scoring era and marked the highest total by the Bulldogs this season.

While the Truman defense was harassing the Parkside (3-3, 0-1 GLVC) attack to just a .091 hitting line for the day, the Bulldog offense was in full swing – hitting a collective .278 with just 11 hitting errors on 108 team attempts. Senior Allie Brak led all players with a dozen kills on a .355 hitting line, while sophomore Kayla Bastian finished with nine kills to go alongside six digs. Heise hit .462 with six kills, and junior Ali Patterson totaled four kills on 13 attempts.

The match was in Truman's control nearly throughout, as the one-hour, 16-minute contest featured just three tie scores and no lead changes. Truman sided-out at a 66% clip to just a 51% line for UWP, who was led by Rebecca Roembke's nine kills. The Bulldogs improved their current streak to six straight set victories with 25-20, 25-17, and 25-21 wins.

Senior Meghan Zimmerman registered a 31-assist, 13-dig double-double, with senior libero Abby Moser also finishing in double-figures defensively with 10 digs.

The match featured a two-hour delay before the first serve, as a scheduling error had UWP arriving late to the venue.

Truman returns to action at 1 p.m. on Sunday when it hosts Lewis (Ill.). The Flyers were picked to finish second in the GLVC East division in the preseason coaches' poll and dropped Quincy (Ill.) in three sets on Saturday to improve to 4-1 (1-0 GLVC) on the year. No admission will be charged for Sunday's contest.
