SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - - A 14-kill, 10-dig double-double by senior Allie Brak – coupled with a team attack line of .304 – helped send the Truman  volleyball team to its sixth straight victory on Sunday afternoon, as the Bulldogs downed Illinois Springfield 3-1.

For the second time in 12 days, the Bulldogs (8-2, 4-0 GLVC) pounded their way to a four-set victory against the Prairie Stars (3-5, 1-3 GLVC), with Sunday's match counting in the GLVC standings. Truman committed just 12 attack errors while recording 11 blocks en route to hitting .304 and siding out at a 64 percent rate. In the three sets Truman won, the purple and white never sided out at lower than 72 percent.

"It's always great to get conference wins on the road," head coach Ben Briney said. "To finish the weekend a perfect 3-0 is a testament to our team and the hard work they put in during practice this past week."

The match featured 17 ties and eight lead changes; however, nine of the ties and four of the lead changes came during the third set. Meanwhile, the primary Bulldog attackers put kills down all over the court, as the quartet of Brak, sophomore Kayla Bastian, junior Ali Patterson, and junior Emilee Walters combined for 37 kills and just four errors (.429 attack percentage). Junior Abby Heise added four kills, and both senior Meghan Zimmerman and sophomore Lacey Hill added three kills apiece.

Sophomore Bailey O'Drobinak led all players with five blocks, while Zimmerman completed a 34-assist, 15-dig double-double of her own. Senior Abby Moser paced the Bulldog defense with 17 digs along the back line.

The Bulldogs will rest next weekend, when the team hits the road for the first intra-division GLVC matches of the season in the St. Louis area on Friday and Saturday. Truman faces Mo.-St. Louis on Friday night at 7 p.m. before battling Maryville at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
