ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Truman Women's tennis returned to action on Friday with their first dual of the spring season. The Bulldogs traveled to Missouri Western and lost to the Griffons 9-0 in a non-conference match. The Bulldogs return home for a dual with Emporia (Kan.) State on March 16.

The Griffons won all three doubles matches by identical 8-4 scores to race out to the early lead.

Lindsey Schlichting and Elise Mousseau were the only Bulldogs to force a third set in singles action. Schlichting came back from a set down at number three before falling 10-7 in the tie break while Mousseau won her first set 6-1 but lost the next two 6-4 and 10-6.

The Bulldogs are now 1-3 in duals this season and the Griffons improved to 4-0.
