Emporia State Wins Pair Over Truman Tennis

Men's Match: Emporia State 9, Truman 0
Women's Match: Emporia State 6, Truman 3

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Emporia State Hornets spoiled the spring debut of the Truman Tennis Teams on a gusty Wednesday afternoon. The Hornets won the men's dual 9-0 and the women's dual by a 6-3 score. Truman is back in action on Friday at Missouri Valley College.

Savannah Everett and Elise Mousseau won number three doubles for Truman by an 8-3 tally to trim ESU's lead to 2-1 heading into singles.

The first four singles matches went Emporia's way by straight sets while Everett and Mousseau picked up singles wins over their opponents in doubles. Everett won 7-5, 6-4 over Kristen Fraley while Mousseau won 6-1, 6-3 over Kayla Fraley.

The ESU men had too much firepower in their sweep over the Bulldogs in the men's match. Gavin Hatter pushed Matheus Mota deep into a second set before falling 6-1, 7-5 in a hotly contested match in number three singles.
