OMAHA, Neb. - Fresh off an upset over the No. 9 team in Division II on Friday night, the Truman men's basketball team received a well-deserved break from GLVC play on Saturday when it played at the No. 8 team in Division I, the Creighton Bluejays. After trailing by just 11 at half, 45-34, the Bulldogs dropped the exhibition by a score of 101-69.
Truman was led in the scoring column by
Connor Erickson (pictured) who scored 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting to go with two rebounds, two blocks, two steals, and one assist in just 16 minutes of action. Behind him,
Taurin Hughes and
Jack Green each had eight points, followed by
Connor Lusso with seven. In total, the Bulldogs were able to get all 13 of those who suited up into the game and each one of them found the scoring column.
Leading the way for Creighton was Marcus Foster with 21 points, three boards, one dime, and one steal. Justin Patton turned in a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds while Cole Huff was the final Bluejay in double-figures with 10. Maurice Watson Jr. ran the show with a game-high six assists as compared to his counterpart,
Dwight Sistrunk, Jr., who tallied five.
Next up, conference play starts right back up for the Bulldogs as they travel to St. Louis to take on Maryville on Thursday (7:30 p.m.) and UMSL on Saturday (3 p.m.).
