RECAP: Truman Tennis In St. Louis Over The Weekend

ST. LOUIS – The Bulldog Tennis teams were in the Gateway City for two separate fall events. The Women competed in the Missouri-St. Louis Fall Invitational while the men lost an 9-0 dual to McKendree University.
 
Lindsey Schlichting posted a pair of singles win at the UMSL Tournament. She lost her opening match 7-5, 6-4 but defeated a pair of teammates in Morgan Eby 8-2 and Alexandra Rogers 8-4.
 
Finessa Rassel was the only player to win her first round match as she was competing in the "B" Bracket. Rassel needed three sets before winning 7-6, 1-6, 10-8.
 
In doubles, Eby and Rogers pulled out two wins. They lost their opening match 8-1 but rebounded for 8-5 and 8-2 wins.
 
Across the river in Lebanon, Illinois, the Bulldog men fell 9-0 to McKendree.  Truman was swept in doubles matches by scores of 8-6, 8-3 and 8-1.
 
Paul Province won set one in the top singles battle 7-6 (8-6) but lost the second 6-0 and the tie break 10-7.
 
The Bulldogs will wrap up the fall season this week with matches at home against Emporia (Kan.) State on Thursday and at the University of Illinois Springfield on Saturday. The home match with the Hornets will begin at 2 p.m.
