KIRKSVILLE, Mo.--The Truman Men's Soccer team returns to action this spring after the fall season was pushed back due to the ongoing pandemic. In 2019 the Bulldogs went 7-8-2, with a 6-7-2 mark in GLVC play.

The Bulldogs are led this spring by junior midfielder Andy Brennan, who led returning players with three goals led all players with three assists a year ago, and defender Will Clayton, who was team captain and the most recent Bulldog Award winner. Clayton started all 17 matches and led the team with 1475 minutes played.

Returners include goalkeepers Julian Echeverri and Joey Keane. Echeverri led the team with 10 games played and eight starts, with a goals against average of 1.37. He made 36 saves to lead the team and had a save percentage of .750. He led the team with three wins and shut out two opponents. Keane played in six matches with five starts in 2019 and saved 29 shots. He picked up his lone win of the season against William Jewell.

At forward, Adam Shine (scored one goal in 14 games), Ryan Stites (started all 17 games, scored one goal against Missouri S&T and an assist against Southwest Baptist), Collin McDonough (appeared in 13 games with 10 starts and scored against Northwood in the season opener), Mac Knudsen (played in 16 games with a start against Purdue Northwest and scored against Southwest Baptist), Luke Payne (2019 redshirt)

Midfielders Simo Valentino (played in 15 games with nine starts, logged 652 minutes), Max Sengl (played in 12 matches with nine starts, logging 798 minutes), Mitchell Kidd (2019 redshirt), Michael Lonnberg (played 198 minutes over seven matches), Ian McCluskey (played in five games with three starts)

Defenders Jack Austin (started 15 of 17 games as a freshman, was fifth on the team with 1294 minutes played), Dom Deprospero (played in 15 games with five starts--played 576 minutes), Jonah Bridges (played 204 minutes in six games), Zach Nay (started 16 of 17 matches he played in, logged 1395 minutes--third on the team), Jacob Grabenhorst (made one start in seven matches played, logged 156 minutes)

The team will welcome newcomers Felipe Campos (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), a transfer from Harris-Stowe University who played three years there. The incoming freshman class includes Sully Bolles (Waukee, Iowa), Collin and Jon Buss (O'Fallon, Mo.), Sean Dillon (St. Louis), George Francis V (Georgetown, Texas), Jack Knust (Blue Springs, Mo.), Jesse Kuykendall (Kansas City, Mo.), Sam Newton (St. Charles, Mo.), Holden Potter (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Thomas Weber (St. Charles, Ill.).
