KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Truman State Women's Tennis team kicked off their fall season by hosting Coe (Iowa) and Evangel (Mo.) Colleges in a flighted invitational on Saturday. The Bulldogs had strong individual performances with Sydney Dial, Kate Steinaber and Molly Scribner all posting perfect 2-0 singles matches on the day.

Dial won a marathon match to start her day as she defeated Lola Federski of Evangel 7-5, 6-7 (4-7) 10-8. She went on to defeat Courtney Carstensen of Coe by an 8-3 tally.

Playing in the seventh flight, Steingaber needed three sets to defeat Courtney Yates of Evangel 6-3, 3-6 10-3 before knocking off Bella Castle of Coe 6-1, 6-3.

In the eighth flight, Scribner won her two matches 7-6 (7-3) 6-2 and 6-4, 6-4.

Allie Brown (Flight 1), Akansha Negi (Flight 2) and Abbi Worster (Flight 3) broke even on the day with 1-1 records.

In doubles flights, Brown and Dial won a pair of 8-4 decisions in flight one to go undefeated and Negi and Worster posted an 8-4 and 8-3 wins in flight two.

The Bulldogs will play in another flighted invitational at Quincy on Friday.
