KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – Truman State University baseball head coach Dan Davis and assistant coach Tyler Hudlow have announced three winter youth baseball camps designed to help young players develop their skills during the offseason.
The Bulldogs coaching staff, along with current Truman baseball players, will lead instruction across three specialized camps in January and February 2026, offering comprehensive training opportunities for youth players in the region.
2026 Truman Baseball Offense/Defense Camp
Scheduled for Sunday, January 3 at Pershing Arena, the Pitching/Catching Camp offers position-specific training for battery players. Check-in starts at 12:30 p.m. for ages 12-18, with the camp running from 1:00-4:00 p.m. (times may be extended depending on attendance).
Pitchers will focus on proper warm-up, pitching mechanics, drills emphasizing mechanics, pick-off moves, pitch grips, and live pitching. Catchers will work on proper warm-up, blocking, framing, throwing, footwork drills, pop times to second, and catching live pitching.
Pitchers should bring their glove and tennis shoes, while catchers need to bring their own gear including mask, chest protector, cup, shin guards, glove, and tennis shoes. The camp costs $50 per player with a $25 cancellation fee. The preferred registration deadline is December 31, with walk-ups welcome.

2026 Winter Hitting Camp
The Winter Hitting Camp is designed to introduce young hitters to the Bulldog offensive philosophy and will be held on four Sunday sessions: January 11, 18, 25, and February 1. Hitting times are scheduled between 1-4 p.m., with specific times varying based on the number of participants enrolled.
Open to grades 4-12, the camp will teach hitters how to effectively use their bodies in sequence to produce maximum results. The curriculum includes tee work, front toss, and live batting practice, with the goal of helping offensive players hit pitches on the barrel to produce maximum exit velocity. Participants will be divided into age-appropriate groups. Additionally, the camp will introduce the Bulldog way of becoming a complete offensive player.
The camp fee is $60 per individual player, with a sibling discount of $50 per hitter. A late registration fee of $75 applies after the January 7 deadline. Hitting times will be communicated via email or text by January 9. Instruction is provided by the Truman coaching staff and current baseball players.
