Bulldogs Roll To Third Straight Win With 3-0 Victory Over Crimson Storm

Box Score

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The top five offensive players all played a role in the Bulldogs' 3-0 MIAA victory over Southern Nazarene (Okla.) University on Saturday afternoon. Andy Chapman had a goal and an assist in Truman's third straight victory.

Chapman picked up the assist on the first goal of the game as he took the ball near the end line to the right of the Crimson Storm keeper before dishing it off for Tony Luedecke's fifth goal of the year in the 12th minute.

The Bulldogs would dominate the half with 11 shots and six corners but only led by the single tally at the break.

In the 75th minute, Charlie Backus threw a long ball down across the pitch that Chapman outraced the defender and chipped it past Blake Anderson into the net for the insurance goal. It was Chapman's team-leading ninth goal of the season.

Six minutes later, Matt Langley found pay dirt when Nick Franta was able to swing a pass across the six-yard box to a waiting Langley for his fourth goal of the season.

Truman added 10 more shots in the second half for 21 on the game while Southern Nazarene finished with 15 shots. The Crimson Storm had four on goal, all saved by Drew Garrone for his first solo shutout of the season.

The Bulldogs are now 8-4-1 overall and 5-1-1 in the MIAA with 16 points while Southern Nazarene falls to 1-14 overall and 1-6 in the conference.
