George Simmons, Jr. was a four-time conference wrestling champion at three different weight classes and a three-time national qualifier in the late 1960s. As a senior, he was team captain and MVP. Since 1971, Simmons has been a physical education instructor, industrial technologist and coach in the St. Louis Public School System. In 1995, he was the head wrestling and football coach at Cleveland Junior Naval Academy
