Roy L Tewell played on the Bulldog basketball team four seasons, earning first- and second-team all-MIAA accolades and serving as team captain twice during his career. He received the MIAA Sportsmanship Award in 1959 and was the 'Dogs' MVP. He also played on the University's first intercollegiate tennis team since the end of World War II. After graduating in 1959, Tewell was hired by New York Life Insurance Company, where he is still employed.
