    Darrell Fouch is a graduate of Pleasantville (Iowa) High School. Mr. Fouch served in the Navy from 1946-48, playing on the Ream Field football team at San Ysidro, Calif. He also received honors for boxing at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Fla. When he returned to civilian life, he lettered in football at Iowa Wesleyan College before transferring to the university, where he performed his final two years on Bulldog teams that were MIAA co-champions. He was a co-captain in 1952. After graduating in 1953 he was employed as a certified corrective therapist in the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Knoxville, Iowa, for two years. Between 1958-87 he was the owner and manager of Fouch's Food Mart in LaPlata. Mr. Fouch then began running the Fouch's Christmas Tree Farm near LaPlata. He says raising Christmas trees is a "hobby" that got out of hand. Mr. Fouch has been active in civic and church affairs, having served on the LaPlata City Council and as an elder and member of the Board of Trustees of the LaPlata Community Presbyterian Church. He is an active member of the university John R. Kirk Society, Alumni Association and Bulldog Booster Club.
