Hall of Fame
G. H. Jamison was a former mathematics instructor at this university. From the 1920's to the early 1960's he was a faculty representative to the Missouri Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Mr. Jamison served a number of years as MIAA secretary and kept statistics for the conference. He also kept statistics for the university and for many years, he supervised the university athletic budget. Mr. Jamison's office in the northeast corner of Kirk Auditorium (now called Kirk Building) became the meeting place and hangout of athletes for discussions of the last game or the upcoming game. Sometimes he would take them home for dinner or take them on fishing trips. When he retired as a math teacher in the early 1960's he took many trips with the athletic teams. Mr. Jamison was a devoted fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs and developed a lasting friendship with George Halas, the "Daddy" of professional football. He passed away in 1979.
