Chris Hegg (Overland Park, Kan.), a football standout at Truman, played for the Bulldogs during the 1984-85 seasons. As a junior, he completed 126 of 268 passes for 1,565 yards and 12 touchdowns and was named to the all-MIAA second team. In 1985, he connected on 284 of 503 passes for 3,741 yards and 32 touchdowns. That year, he was named to the Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association and Football News all-America teams. Hegg was also selected as Football News' Division II Player of the Year, to the 1985 all-MIAA first team and was the Truman and MIAA MVP. Hegg still owns six Bulldog single-game and six single-season records, a Truman career mark and two NCAA single season records. Currently he is a sales representative for Goodheart-Wilcox Publisher.
