Hall of Fame
Dale "Paley" Mills came to the university from Columbia, Mo. in 1957 and by the time he played his last football game in the 1960 season, he had broken 10 college division records, nine MIAA records, 12 school records and had led the NCAA College Division in rushing twice. His coach Red Wade once told a sportswriter that the secret to Paley Mills' success was his amazing balance as a runner and his durability. Except for one game as a senior, when he was sidelined for a few minutes with a broken tooth, he was never injured in his Bulldog career. Since his collegiate days, Paley Mills has devoted most of his time to teaching and coaching. He was at Breckenridge one year, followed by six years at Hamilton and the past six at Buffalo, where he is assistant football coach and head girls basketball and head boys track coach.
