Les Post was an outstanding fullback on Bulldog football teams in the mid-1930's, earning three letters and making the 1936 All-MIAA team. He was a member of a great offensive backfield, included two other Hall of Fame recipients, Ralph Cavanah and Ralph Alexander. After graduation in 1939, he played with the Philadelphia Eagles for a while. During World War II he served in the Army Air Force. In 1948 he started a career with Standard Oil Company that spanned 30 years. Mr. Post was credit manager for Standard Oil in St. Louis, Mo.; South Bend, Ind.; Indianapolis, Ind.; Chicago; and briefly in Kansas City, Mo. before his death in 1977. He lived a fun and interesting life with many hobbies, including an extensive collection of model trains. Mr. Post also loved to play golf and tennis and spend a great deal of time at his cottage in northern Michigan.
