Levi Craig, a native of Kirksville, played football and basketball at the university between 1924-28. He was named to the 1926 and 1927 All-MIAA football team as a back. In 1927 he led the MIAA in scoring. Levi was selected to the All-Conference basketball team in 1926-27 as a forward and was captain of that All-MIAA team. He also competed in track and set a state high jump record with a leap of 6-2. After graduating from the university, he coached at LaPlata High School, Mexico Junior High School, and taught physical education at Central High School in St. Louis. After this, he moved to East St. Louis, IL, where he was Director of Physical Education for the East St. Louis Public Schools until his death in 1960.
