Arnold Embree came to the university from Marceline and established himself as one of the all-time Bulldog football greats. He was a four-year football letterwinner, earning All-MIAA recognition all four years he was a quarterback for the Bulldog. Arnold was an All-State selection twice and received All-American laurels in 1934. He and Jack Robinson served as 1934 co-captains. Don Faurot said once that Arnold was the best all-around back he had coached on the collegiate level. Arnold also played baseball while at Truman. After graduating, he coached at Missouri Military Academy, Central High School in St. Joseph and was a district supervisor for the CAA for Kansas City. Arnold later moved to Michigan where he was an associate professor, counselor, trainer, Associate Dean of Students at Northern Michigan, Director of Pupil Personnel Services for the Pontiac MI school district until he retired in 1975. He is now residing in Garland, TX.
