Jack Robinson came to the university campus from Springer, New Mexico. He was a four-year football letterman from 1931-34, earning All-MIAA accolades three times at tackle. He was also an All-State and All-American selection. Jack has been described by old teammates as a devastating tackle and one of the best tackles to ever play for the Bulldogs. He had great size, speed, quickness, agility and strength. He also competed in track as weight event performer. Jack was signed to play professional football for the Brooklyn Dodgers and also played for the Chicago Cardinals and the Pittsburg Pirates. After his professional football career he was in the cattle and construction business, a member of the New Mexico State Police, Sheriff of Colfax County in New Mexico and employed by the New Mexico Boys School of Corrections.
