Ed Adams came to the university from Mexico. He was a guard on Bulldog football teams from 1925-28 and made the honorable mention All-MIAA list as a sophomore and first team All-MIAA as a senior. Mr. Adams played one year for H.L. "Curley" McWilliams and the other three seasons for Don Faurot. According to the Echo yearbook from that time, he was described as a reliable lineman, who used his head on defense and made up for a lack of weight with his fight and plenty of hard, steady work. Mr. Adams recalls that in McWilliams' last game as Bulldog coach he asked the team to play this last game for him. The Bulldogs were playing the Osteopaths from the other side of town and they won the game 21-0. After his collegiate days, Mr. Adams worked for the State of Missouri in heavy construction for 10 years. He then served as Monroe County Engineer for 10 years, followed by a career in real estate and insurance until retiring two years. He also farmed for a number of years before moving to Paris, Mo.
