Truman State University Athletics

Lee Smith entered Truman as a junior and averaged 18.0 points and 13.7 rebounds as a senior on the hardwood. He was named to the all-conference first-team and still ranks second in Bulldog single-season rebounding. After finishing his career at Truman, he continued playing basketball in the Mexican Professional League and in Europe. Later, he played for the Harlem Globe Travelers. At the time of his induction, Smith was a member of the Detroit Old Timers, a 35-and-older league. Between 1987 and 1989, he coached in a police basketball league for 12-and-under youths. Smith was self employed in the dry cleaning business.
