Roland Zeigel

Roland Zeigel moved to Kirksville in 1912 when his father became pastor of the Presbyterian Church. He attended the university and was a tackle on the 1916 and 1917 football teams. He received All-Conference honors in 1917 and was captain of the squad that season. Mr. Zeigel served in the Navy during World War I and attended law school after the war, graduating in 1923. He returned to Kirksville to practice law, serving several terms as prosecuting attorney and city attorney. Mr. Zeigel was a member of the university Board of Regents for 18 years, serving as secretary. He was also an attorney for the university until his death in 1959.
