Mr. Geredine was named to the All-MIAA football team as a sophomore, junior and senior. In 1971 he was the conference MVP and sportsmanship recipient. In his last two seasons on the Bulldog football team, he was selected to the Associated Press honorable mention All-American team. He established two career records for the Bulldogs that stood for almost a decade. He caught 115 passes for 1965 yards in four seasons. Coming into this season, he was third in Bulldog career receiving yardage and fourth in career receptions. As a senior on the team, he served as a tri-captain. Mr. Geredine was selected to play in the Blue Gray Football Game. His track career was also spectacular. He was a three-time NCAA College Division All-American, winning the national long jump in 1971 with a leap of 24-7 _ and the national triple jump in 1972 with an effort of 50-4.5. His school record long jump of 25-2 still exists. Mr. Geredine's triple jump mark of 51-3.5 stood for more than a decade. At one time, his two records were also conference marks. In 1971 he attended an Olympic specialized training session for jumpers at Bowdoin College. In 1973 he was drafted in the fourth round by the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League. He spent two years at Atlanta and then played for the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings, Baltimore Colts and St. Louis Cardinals. He also played for the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League. Since his retirement from professional football in the early 1980's, he has been a counselor in the Austin, Texas area.
